Just a 15 minute ride away from Kalkan, nestled high in the mountains is Islamlar. Famous for its many trout farm restaurants, Islamlar is is like stepping back in time. Rustic in nature, Islamlar offers peace and tranquility in abundance as well as panoramic views of the local countryside and distant sea views. The temperatures are far cooler than the near-by resort of Kalkan which is why walkers are attracted to the area as well as anyone wishing to just simply get away from it all.

The village centre is very small and completely Turkish. But as you wander freely around the lanes, paths and fields, you will see that the local residents are completely self-sufficient. Fresh drinking water cascades down the mountain, lemon and olive trees grow in most if not every garden ripe for the picking, and eggs are freshly collected each morning.

If after a relaxing day by the pool you feel like something a bit livlier, then head for Kalkan with its sophisticated restaurants and al-fresco bars. Combining Islamlar and Kalkan is having the best of both worlds.

Summer Season (May to October)

Cooler than neighbouring Kalkan due to the altitude, Islamlar is a lot cooler throughout the whole year which makes July and August a lot more comfortable. Overall during the summer season, the temperatures are reduced by around 3 or 4 degrees compared to Kalkan.
